Née à Beyrouth, Cynthia Sawma est une réalisatrice et scénariste libanaise, diplômée de l’Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA) en master réalisation cinéma.
Son parcours cinématographique professionnel commence en 2012, au sein du département casting, de pubs ou de long-métrages. Elle est notamment connue pour son travail au casting dans L’Insulte (2017) de Ziad Doueiri, Capharnaüm (2018) de Nadine Labaki et Memory Box (2021) de Joana Hadjithomas et Khalil Joreige.
Par ailleurs, Cynthia a réalisé plusieurs clips vidéo, documentaires et courts métrages, tels que Scenes From Home (2021) Red Wall (2020), et Mabrouk (2015) qui a remporté plusieurs prix dans des festivals internationaux. Aujourd’hui, Cynthia développe son premier long métrage de fiction « A Taste of Paradise ».
